About Land of Nature Africa
Land of Nature Africa is a small, owner-operated collection of safari camps in northern Tanzania. Founded by a team of Tanzanian conservationists and hospitality professionals, our camps were born from a shared conviction that the most meaningful safari experiences come from intimate settings, expert guiding, and a genuine connection to the land and communities that make Tanzania extraordinary.
Our Camps
We currently operate two camps, each in a distinct ecosystem that offers a fundamentally different safari experience. Land of Nature Camp sits in the heart of the Central Serengeti, near the legendary Seronera Valley, where year-round Big Five viewing and front-row access to the Great Wildebeest Migration define every stay. Tarangire Nature Camp is perched above the Tarangire River amid ancient baobab trees, in a park renowned for its vast elephant herds and over 550 bird species. Together, these two camps provide a comprehensive northern Tanzania safari that covers the full spectrum of East African wildlife and landscapes.
Our Philosophy
We believe that smaller is better. Our camps are deliberately intimate — a limited number of guest tents, a handful of expert guides, and a kitchen team that knows your name and your breakfast preferences by your second morning. We do not aspire to be a luxury lodge chain. We aspire to be the camp you remember because of the leopard your guide found in a fig tree at dawn, the candlelit dinner where you shared stories with fellow travellers from three continents, and the silence that descended when the vehicle engine was switched off in the middle of the Serengeti plains.
Our Team
Our guides are the foundation of everything we do. Many have grown up in communities bordering the national parks and possess a depth of bush knowledge that no formal training can replicate. They read the landscape the way a musician reads a score — interpreting animal behaviour, predicting wildlife movements, and sharing insights that transform a game drive from sightseeing into genuine education. Our camp teams — from chefs to housekeeping to management — are drawn from local communities, and we invest in continuous training and career development.
Responsible Tourism
We operate with the understanding that the privilege of hosting guests in these extraordinary ecosystems comes with responsibilities. We employ locally, source locally, and contribute directly to community education and healthcare initiatives. Our camps use solar power, minimise waste, and follow strict environmental protocols. We believe that well-managed tourism is one of the most powerful forces for conservation in East Africa, and we take that role seriously.
